The titles of many kannywood productions are not original. They are mostly plagiarized. However, there are instances where the films are titled without checking whether or not the titles were used before, and as a result, multiple films end up having similar titles. The movie NISAN KWANA is just another addition to that list as the title was already used by Aminu Saira in 2010.

While the first NISAN KWANA (Dir. Aminu saira 2010), aptly captured the title, this NISAN KWANA only leaves the audience wondering why it was given the same name, for the storyline and the title are clearly at opposite poles. It tells the story of a couple whose first night as lawfully wedded is ruined because, three ladies are abducted on the way to their wedding dinner. Among the abductees, one is the wife of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). When the ACP finds out, he goes to the dinner venue and disrupts the event. That is how the bride and her groom spend their precious first night with their guests in the dinner hall rather than with pleasure in the bride's room.

The film is intended to educate and entertain. It is about the alien wedding practices and females' obsession with ceremonies. Unfortunately, the director did not handle it with the seriousness it deserves. He, instead, made it much like illogical, low scale comedies.

The presentation of the film is another failure. The representation of the wedding dinner, which constitutes its greater part, is not only unrealistic but lacks continuity. The script is also inconclusive and leaves many questions unanswered. For instance, the kidnappers are shown to have a boss whom they have been talking with on the phone right from the beginning. But the film just ended without even revealing who the boss was, not talking of the retribution that befalls him.

Regarding the cast, apart from the chemistry between the leading pair (Sadik Sani Sadik and Rahama sadau), and the character of the groom's best man (played by Umar Gombe), nothing deserves any praise.

On the whole, NISAN KWANA is not entirely boring but it is disappointing as per critical analysis. I recommend it for ardent kannywood fans.
